Confession Wednesday: once Blue now New

Confession #7:
 For the past couple years,
I have had a very bitter outlook
on marriage.
Like, extremely bitter.

I won't go into details as to why,
but I made up my mind that
I would remain completely independent
(for some reason I decided marriage robbed one of all independence)
and
go to graduate school
and
adopt a black baby
and
have a trendy loft apartment
and
do all these things solo...because
I would
never ever
want to
get
married.

That was my "no exceptions" decision...
until time healed some wounds
and
family and friends helped get me out of my funk
and
I created a gosh darn Pinterest account.
I already talked about how this website is ruining my life
by making me want to do nothing but
braid my hair
reupholster furniture
make wreaths out of fuzz balls and yarn
sew couch pillows
bake things
paint my nails
landscape my nonexistent backyard
etc etc etc.

Well, Pinterest is also aiding
in reigniting my wish to {one day...no rush, no worries} get married.

I mean, how do you not want to tie the knot after you see this

And this

And this

And this

Barf, it's just too much
and
I kind of like
every bit of it.

I don't know when I'll get married
or
to whom I will marry,
but to that mystery dude of mine:

I am in no way perfect
but
I know a lot about nutrition and gangster rap.
I have a lot of street cred and can protect you if need be.
I am obsessed with lingerie (this is where you fist pump and say "score").
I can drive stick shift while eating frozen yogurt.
I am very loyal, kind of like a dog or something.
I make really good guacamole (this is also where you fist pump and say "score").
Boredom complaints aside, I love being at church and learning there.
I usually smell lovely.
 I am a pretty cry-er and have a lady-like laugh (okay this line's a lie).
I am still planning on grad school. And possibly the black baby.
Thanks to Pinterest, we will definitely still have a trendy home.
I will love you for time and all eternity.

Thank you
time,
 supportive family,
close friends,
and of course
Pinterest
for helping me be more positive
and realize

I do not need to be

a n t i - m a r r i a g e

in order to be

p r o - i n d e p e n d e n c e
